Aspiring local football stars of the future will get the chance to take their talents to the next level when Nepean Football Club hosts trials for its 2021 Skills Acquisition Program next month.
Nepean FC has quickly established itself as a pathway to the Western Sydney Wanderers, providing kids in the Penrith and surrounding areas the opportunity to join a rapidly growing elite-level club in Sydney’s west.
That reputation was enhanced when Under-12s player Lucas Gil was offered a trial with the Wanderers recently and went on to earn a place in their Under-13s squad for 2021.
With trials to be held at Cook Park in St Marys on Monday, November 2, Nepean FC is putting out the call to boys from Under-9s to Under-12s and girls from Under-10s to U nder-13s to try out for what could be the start of a life-changing journey.
The club’s technical director, Bill Kuzmanovski, said that as well as growing into a budding nursery for the Wanderers, Nepean FC’s emphasis on development also meant it was a pathway to elite-level competitions like the NPL, WPL and AYL
” Our teams play an exciting brand of football, based on the technical aspects of the game, and it gives our players the best grounding for their futures and we are especially proud of the progress our girls’ SAP teams have made in recent years ” Kuzmanovski said.
For 10 years NFC, the representative club for the Nepean Football Association, has provided specific technical coaching for on-field players and goalkeepers.
The club trains between two and three days a week and plays games on Saturdays or Sundays during the season.
“We’re the perfect club for young players who want to develop and challenge themselves against quality opposition,” Kuzmanovski said.
“The kids make lifelong friends, get to play all over Sydney and, at the end of the day, take home their jerseys to wear with pride.”
